I never got the appeal of latios/latias, but could be cuz I had already largely lost interest in pokemon when these pokemon were released.

I remember watching some pokemon movie that had this Venice vibe/location which featured latios/latias and they just seemed like these faggot birds to me at the time. I was like: 'wooooow legendary pokemon, this gonna be awesome' and then being dissapointed

But I also remember watching some pokemon movie with deoxys and also being disappointed at that even though I found the concept cool, but the pokemon bland.

Idk could just be oldceldom since we are different ages. At gen3 I had largely already lost interest so the stories and stuff didn't hit me as hard anymore.
I am merely nostalgic about Gen1/2 stuff.

Why Alakazam? It's nice to see Alakazam get respect and not be in the shadow of Mewtwo. Mewtwo is a genetic ubermensch freak made by commission and personal project as part human and part Mew but I also want to believe part Abra-line because there are too many parallels to ignore. Alakazam is the naturally hard-trained, disciplined psychic Ronaldo. Same mythos as how Ditto is connected with Mew.

Alakazam IS a shadow of Mewtwo to me. And that is a GOOD thing, not a bad thing.

I mention Alakazam as a second-choice, because it is unreasonable to think of yourself as a god, like Mewtwo. With unlimited power.
It's like people thinking back of ancient times and saying: 'Oh yeah man I would love to live in the 1800s. I would just be Napoleon and live in pure comfort and be this mogger chad.'

It's unrealistic. There is only one Mewtwo, there is only one Napoleon. You are far more likely to be some helpess grunt who dies for nothing in his army.

Alakazam may mog Mewtwo in actual intelligence and psychic powers, so I believe, which is why I like Alakazam. Alakazam is a mogger and a worthwhile opponent to Mewtwo, and it's its own thing, a mogger in his own name.

but it gets outclassed in raw-power and speed. Mewtwo would destroy it in a 1on1. So if I was Alakazam I would need to use my superior intellect to scheme a trap to destroy mewtwo. etc.

which I find a mogger storyline, nice lifestyle.

Alakazam is very mogger in the end. I think being mewtwo and raping+killing everyone is unrealistic so I just want to be Alakazam and kill everyone.
