I feel like everyone has a different preferred hour, I've met some people who enjoy it first thing in the morning, some mid day, and some just at night completely.
I like mid day the most becus the sun is out and if I stay out long enough I can make a fire at night

Any time in the AM if it's summer

I'd say dusk but I don't like having to hike back in the pitch black, and getting to your destination by dusk means you'd have to start mid day
