His reformation of Germany economically and militarily was absolutely impressive but what does that have to do with his government and foreign policies? In what world is an authoritarian system where you can literally just gas anyone who suggests anything different than what you want, where you can steal from your people freely any better than democracy? Many got lucky he had a god complex that made him think he was some savior so he did care about the majority (obviously not all) of his people, but if you look at almost any other authoritarian regime (USSR) it just shows that 99.9% of normal humans are intrinsically selfish and will do what makes their lives better for the current. It never would have lasted, he sealed his fate by declaring war on the US out of pure ego and rage instead of waiting for a negotiation or at least stabilization on the eastern front.
