And let me tell you something else. Music is bad. It makes you feel good in the moment, but having a quiet mind is best of all. I never listen to music. In my vehicle it's always silent. Maybe I'll listen to podcasts but that's it. There's a no music rule in my house. We never listen to it. Not ever. It keeps your head clear and happy.

i'll never go past eating the occasional edible mary jane (i hate smoke) and red wine from time to time tbh. Sadness is a human emotion, and like all the other emotions, its incumbent upon one to have the necessary skills to regulate emotions adequately. Personally, I will never let sadness or melancholy overtake me or steer my decisions or outlook on life. That's a surefire way to, as you stated, get progressively older and sadder.

Even at my lowest point when the pain and misery greatly outweighed anything else genuine curiosity. Even if you suffer another 10 years you can always jump then. Aren't you at least curious how the world will change just 10 years ago the world was very different. I am curious what the future holds even if I barely have what might be qualified a life things will go on.

Regardles of how awful the modern world is you can't say its uninteresting I believe we are at a major cross road. Being alive today as a young man would be like being alive in the great depression or WW2 it will fundamentally define the century. Life will end regardless why speed it up why not just watch a little longer. The only hopeless people are the dead.
