When bonesmashing gonions, should I use my knuckles or a hammer? How long should I go for also?

use knuckles and bs for about 5 minutes (on one side)

Buy a massage gun, literal life saver and takes less effort, may induce actual periosteal apposition & ofc fibrosis.
