When I started 7th grade I was an ugly piece of shit and wasn’t aware of that and people were brutal to me but present day people treat me nicely because I look 100x better

When I realized no one ever had given me a compliment or said something about my appearance besides skin color. People said nice shit to each other all the time around me, but I always got only personality compliments.

Hard to pinpoint, honestly. I think lookism has always been a quiet undercurrent in my life, at least from as early as six to eight years old (due to deviation of societal standard's, Long hair, paler than everybody since I was in the middle east, ect).

but I only truly found the language to connect the dots around seventh or eighth grade, when I had become the laughing stock, the “ugly kid” consigned to the corner. By Grade 9 it had rolled into something worse, I had to watch all my friends around me slip into relationships while I remained the solitary constant, and, naturally, that too became another instrument of ridicule.

There is currently someone out there living the same shit without having stumbled on lookism yet, poor souls.
