I get scared because I know if I wanted to, I could easily just jump off and die. Nothings stopping me besides my own choice.

The mere fact that one has the possibility and freedom to do something, even the most terrifying of possibilities, triggers immense feelings of dread.

This is called “the dizziness of freedom” and was written about by Kierkegaard.



So next time you’re holding a loaded gun or standing at the edge of a large structure, remember this concept.
