My concern is it not dissolving as many people say it doesn't fully dissolve, as well as if it would look uncanny if I didn't do my gonions

It all depends on how recessed you are. First, I would reccomend bonesmashing chin to get an idea of how much filler you would like to use. Also if you are worried about making yourself look uncanny, just gradually apply filler over 3-5 months until you get the desired result, or save money up to get chin filler by a professional.
