18 is already too late. Not for the college life but yes to be doing college, you should unironically start college before 10 years of age, by 13 u should have graduated.

A few years ago, my mom took a college class and she was in her late 50s. She was the oldest one in the class, including the instructor. A lot of her classmates just graduated from high school.
