When will zygo osteotomies catch up to jaw osteotomies?

Feel like if you have no cheekbones its way harder to fix than having a narrow jaw or recessed jaw. Most cheekbone augmentation looks fake/feminine. Is it due to the lack of it being mainstream compared to getting a sharp jawline, which I find getting advertised way more than anything do to with cheekbones

Never will, good cheekbones requires 3 dimensional changes unlike the BSSO which is a 1 dimensional change. Osteotomies will never get you that kind of result on the cheekbones, you need custom implants.

anterior zygo osteotomy is basicallly just a lefort 3 which is dangerous. its possible to expand laterally wiith zso but most people who are laterally flat are also anteriorly flat, so it only solves part of the problem. Until someone finds a way to do lefort 2-3 safetly custom implants will be the only option.

the bottleneck right now with custom implants tbh is that the surgeon themself does not technically design the implant, they coordinate with an outside agency who designs them and this person likely does not have an indepth sense of facial aesthetics. We need to literally be 3d printing your skull and handing it off to a sculptor who will fashion your face into its ideal format; the additional projection they add will then be reverse 3d-printed and from that custom implants will be designed

If done right, midface implants are just as good as bone. Osteotomies are superior for the jaw because it's not just about projection and teeth are involved.
