It's innoscent responses I am getting, the reality is once someone get's better looking or becomes wealthy and their opportunities increase they immediately rationalise why their old social demographic is no longer good enough and "upgrade"

I once had a fat guy who used to go to the gym with me when I was teenager as he was bullied for being fat. He lost a lot of weight. Then he started pointing and laughing at fat people in the gym I told him "you used to be fat yourself" and he was like "so? that was then I am not now."

It's human instinct to create hierachies "you are the butcher or the cattle, if you don't make up your own mind what side you are on someone else will do it for you, and you won't know it untill its too late"

I agree that the more attractive you get, the more of an ego you possess as well however he also had the choice to laugh at them like you said or give advice to ascend, etc if they asked for it especially considering that once those other people are no longer fat they can choose to do the exact same thing that he did.
