You are in a compromised position, you are at their mercy in anticipation of a reply and they sugarcoat since a harsh reply could directly incriminate and antagonize unlike in a rating thread with many replies

The whole concept of being rated is a little ridiculous from the start. I only DM people to get rated to get a rough estimation of where I stand or should stand. Only thing that really matters is do your looks affect how you're treated positively or negatively.
