When i was a kid he never showed me any love or even emotional support, he mocked me when i made any mistake and punished me when i didn’t meet his expectations on gradings. He divorced my mother when i was 13, resulting in my mother having to take care of 5 children alone with a low salary. He found a new girlfriend who has 2 sons, he toke care of them financially, bought them shit everyday, spoiling them, while asking me for money after i got a job, promising he would give it back after a week which of course never happened, instead he asked for more money. Imagine that was your dad, would you like him?

I have some similarities, but mine parents still together. But my dad used to punish me everyday. And they tell me everyday im their biggest failure. They wish they only had my brother

I’m not saying he wasn’t a bad father or that you shouldn’t feel negatively towards him. I’m just saying the post was portrayed negatively. And to answer your question yes he seems like a very bad father.

Parents who only made kids to fulfill societal standards don‘t love their kids, they have expectations instead. Loving someone and having expectations are two different things, when you love somone you only want them to be happy, but when you think of them as a thing that’s only there to support you in your own life you have expectations on them

They want me to get a PhD in something instead of working and getting money, they see me as a way to complete their failed goals.
