I just got ripped off by Amazon Pharmacy.
I was trying to buy a small tube of Tretinoin (0.05%). It was listed for $45. That's outrageously expensive. I used to buy large tubes of it in Thailand and the Philippines for less than $10 (without a damn prescription). But, since I didn't have any other options, I decided to go for it.
So, first, I had to pay $29 for an online "healthcare provider" to approve my prescription. About 2 hours later, I receive an email from Amazon Pharmacy, notifying me that my order is ready. Great! They approved it! But as soon as I clicked on the link, the price of my Tret suddenly changed to $117! It turns out, the quoted lower price was if I went through insurance! FUCK!!
So, I tried to get my health insurance to pay for it. Of course, they immediately denied it. They don't pay for cosmetic meds. Oh, well. It was worth a try. I wasted $29.
Before Covid, I used to be able to find tubes of Tretinoin on Ebay and other sites for about $30, but the Commies, who are now in charge of these websites, have since closed that loophole. So, now, you have to jump through hoops and pay out of your ass for something that should be dirt-cheap and easy to get.
Any suggestions?
