Where did this idea that you can't get more than a 4mm lefort 1 movement for Bimax unless you are giga-recessed start?

its always a different number for each patient you can't generally say that you will get
chimplips at exactly 4-5mm. some people get 8mm lf1 and look fine, some get chimplips and a really wide nose. depends on your recession i guess

I think he might be mistaken about this. a lot of surgeons that I've spoken to didn't hesitate to suggest a 5mm lefort 1 even though he said that my maxilla isn't recessed and told me NOT to do bimax, saying that my upper jaw is perfect/very good.
he suggested doing IMDO and genio only

and I haven't heard of this idea that 99% of people need less than 5mm of lefort 1 from anyone but him and a few other users here, so unsure where/how it started

How tf do his teeth look after that? How long will he need braces? And any teeth need to be removed?

From what I know the surgeon usually does some ccw and looks how you look like during surgery. If your lips ficked up you get less expansion. Its all up to your soft tissue.

There is ccw rotation, anterior posterior downgraft , how high the cut is. This all influences the final result , pure mm means very little.

mm's matters a lot. it is the most important factor in whether or not you will look like a chimp

Im surprised by the little to none movement of the nose tip.

Also we would have to see the front. A big lf1 should widen the nose from the front as well to a noticeable degree.

But I also don’t know where the number 5 comes from. I just know that lf1 comes with many aesthetic risks. A bsso has pretty much none.
