I am 16 and I live in greece i am thinking about getting bimax+genioplasty in like 2 years . The thing is I dont fucking know if I need to choose a specific surgeon for bimax ( main purpose is aesthetics obv) because here the prices are are like 10-15k€ for that but if need to choose a foreign one I might need 40k€ or some shit. Also is it even possible to lie to the insurance?

Tbh my maxxila is not even flat its just slightly resecesed but I definitely need a better lower third. Do you think that only a genio can help or bimax ir required too?

How would you lie to insurance? They will look at your CBCT scans and the surgeons statement. If it's purely for cosmetic reasons, you will have to pay out of pocket

Gotta get a sleep apnea test. If it's positive they'll probably get you on a splint or CPAP, then you'll have to complain you don't want to have a machine strapped to your face for life, and that it ruins your dating life. Maybe after all that you can get covered for bimax.

What do you want to address with bimax anyways?

I was thinking about genio at first but I want the best result possible so now I also consider bimax + genio because bimax in greece is like pretty cheap (10-15k)
Obviously all that for appearance purposes

My maxxila is not dead flat its slightly resecesed tho . My biggest problem is the lower third
And genio is gonna fix the projection and that's great but bimax could also correct my ccw and probably even widen the ramus

If you have a good edge to edge bite with a normal 1-2mm overjet, I personally wouldn't get bimax. There are complications and relapse after surgery could actually end up giving you malocclusion. Genio is fine and you can probably achieve a lot with just that, and maybe implants

Hard to say without images/scans

Alright thanks for the info. Also i made a thread today that has 0 replies
I basically said that my back teeth don't touch when I close my mouth and I asked if it effects appearance
Do you know anything about that?

Sounds like posterior open bite. Just go to a good ortho and ask for a evaluation

Yeap I think i already know what's wrong with it anyways . So i slightly expanded my upper palate like a year ago with a palate expander and the back teeth of my lower jaw are lean towards the middle , so if I open my lower jaw with an expander its gonna get fixed
But I dont really know if it actually does effect aesthetics
