Where to INVEST 20k?

I have 20k on my bank account, some of them will go for my uni, which would be like 4k max(there's still a chance of me not getting in).
So the questions is, what do i do with those money? I'm becoming 18 soon, so i wanna prepare. Every advice will be considered.
