freshman in college, getting ignored by every girl around. I got interested in fashion then, at least my style ascended and i discovered how to dress well. So i got yeezys and a Supreme hoodie of course.

I was in 8th grade in 2011 and a girl in my class said i will never get married, the same one toyed with me and was unpleasant around me, and also a few other girls also made fun of me around 8th grade/1st of HS. So the girls were always acting like that is my conclusion, but now social media put their behaviour under a magnifying glass

I dont think women ever started to be hypergamous, they always were, only back in the day they kept closer to their chest and didnt want to be seen as such cause of their public image.

it was covid 2020 that caused such a big cultural shift with everything going online

women in general had some sense of self image they had to keep up before everything went online where they’d be validated regardless by their simps

social interaction, entertainment, dating, and validation became online

attention became easier to access than ever before

Yup, but my experiences with girls matched exactly what Blackpill said when i discovered it, i was never aware it was exactly cause of my looks tho. So before COVID it was a less discussed and showcased thing of their behavior, now its in the spotlight.

But in 2010-2016 internet was more chill, you had to go to forums and find stuff for yourself about a certain topic, TikTok sort of blew up every single niche there is and changed the landscape. Now memes last 3 days, i remember in 2016 a new meme lasted for months and months.

i remember, you don’t see ‘big events’ happen together that people know about do you. i think the IT movie was probably one of the last global events people talked about.

i noticed that the reason why there’s a big cultural shift in general post covid 2020 for the internet is because of not just everything going online but everything being personalized to ones algorithm, you don’t see ‘big events’ happen anymore that everyone would talk about.

before covid 2020, people were still consuming a lot of the same content at the same time. everyone would watch the same movies, see the same memes, follow the same trends, and use the same websites.

even if the internet was already becoming fragmented, there were still shared experiences that brought people together.

now everyone lives in their own feed. two people can spend all day online and come away with completely different views of what is popular, important, or even happening in the world.

culture in general becomes individualized instead of a few large communities. i mean it’s one of the reasons why goths, alts, femboys, became so common with there being an actual community they can leech onto before it was ostracized way back then. you don’t need to conform to societal norms like people pre 2020, everything is all based on ‘individuality,’ youth in general is more accepting of it.

the internet did change, not everyone is viewing the same kind of shit you typically would’ve pre 2020. everything is personalized to ones algorithm.
