Which bone in the eye is responsible for having a long PFL? I want to know what makes your eyes horizontally wide

soft tissue doesn't always follow the bones.

Mostly the maxilla and the zygoma , but the frontal bone also contributes alot to the pfl

Wide zygos are often accompanied by eyes with long PFL

These answers are mostly wrong.

PFL has to do with:
•Eyeball size/ eyeball protrusion

•lateral and medial canthal tendons, specifically how far away they are from the“center” of the eye. This is very much affected by the shape of your orbital socket, specifically how “far out” your lateral rim/wall is, and how “far in” your medial rim/wall” is. The canthal tendons are attached to their corresponding orbital rims. You can have a recessed maxilla, recessed zygos, and a good PFL.

You can have little frontal/posterior development of your orbital rims (less likely) and still have a good PFL. Some of the best jaw/midface surgical cases are with people who already have nice eyes (including things like PFL).

PS:
For those wondering, barring invasive procedures like variants of orbital rim osteotomies, along with repositioning of the canthal tendons (which with the medial one, carries various risks), there isn’t much that can be done to surgically increase PFL, at least in a way that will look natural.

It’s hypothesized whether MSE can increase PFL, maybe so in younger patients.

A longer PFL along the lateral side of your eye can be frauded with much longer eyelashes in that region—whether they be acquired thru serums, fake lashes, lash transplants, etc.

Lighter colored irises also give the appearance of a longer PFL.
