Theyre like northern european and siberian with northern european being predominant so kind of close i guess but still quite far. I think central-eastern siberians are pretty close since they have mongol-adjacent dna and russian dna which is basically euro

Yeh they are basically a just of group of HAPAs. Maybe some admixture from slavs

They do have Asian admixture, sometimes significantly so. Personally I think they are a mixture of Whites from the area around the Baltic sea and Siberians, that have met along their migration paths and interbred instead of killing each other.

Yeh true i think moreso NEA they can look very asian at times. I would say the closet ethnic group to NEA HAPAs without being HAPA are prob the Ainu.

Its bcuz of the eyes. Neas have the most distinct eyes to europeans/caucasians. If a nea hapa inherits the eyes its a very striking feature to whites/caucasians and automatically gives off “other” vibes. If you ignore the eyes, you notice they inherited european characteristics. Its rare for a hapa to pass as fully asian imo. Only like 20% pass as fully asian, 15% pass as fully white and 65% pass as mixed. Theres a meme going around on tiktok of the asian passing hapas referring to themselves as “wASIAN”. Ainus look pretty Japanese/siberian tbh and i dont think many hapas would pass as them. I think hapas are closest to asiatic eastern europeans and any mixed group in north central asia (so its more of a euro-mongol blend)
