Gym 1
Its 1.3 miles and 26 minutes walk. Has all the basic lifting equipment and some fancy machines, i don't see in some commercial gyms. At peak times its very full but i don't train around then, although when i start working i might have to. The cardio equipment's are good in there also and its very spacious. Its also full of girls for some reason. £17.99 a month.

Gym 2
1 mile and 19 minutes walk. More of a hardcore gym. All the basic lifting equipment plus some machines i only see in hardcore gyms. Its empty even in peak times, plus next to no girls there. Cardio machines are shitty, one time the exercise bike was dirty i think. Hardcore lifters love this gym, i see ig celebs train here sometimes. Its £40 a month.

1 because cheaper. Equipment is irrelevant, cardio being the difference, well how about instead of walking 20min to there, you run? Here's your cardio. Fuck machines. If you don't hit peak times, then you don't care that it's full. Girls could be a +, if you're chad.

Go for the first one and save some money this way. It's about how much effort you actually put in the actual work out, rather than the quality and quantity of the machines that the gym has.

A gym must have:

0) It must allow deadlifts (stay away from planet fitness and LA fitness), ideally deadlift platforms so you know that deadlifts are allowed.
1) A power rack
2) Barbells that don't bend when using 300 lbs or more (stay away from 24h fitness)
3) Round plates without corners (2.5 lb, 5 lb, 10 lb, 25 lb, and 45 lbs), ideally calibrated plates but it's not mandatory
4) A place to do the bench press
5) Good air conditioning in the summer and good heating in the winter
6) Very few people to avoid waiting too long to use the power rack
7) It must be not too far from where you live so you go more often (this doesn't matter as much as the rest)

Everything else literally does not even matter. The best gyms are usually powerlifting gyms because a lot of people who go there are really strong and constantly pushing themselves and they give better advice than in commercial gyms because most people there know how to lift.

Gyms like Equinox are just popular because celebrities go there, it's a place for normies who don't even lift, it's NOT a place for people who want to be as strong/muscular as possible, it's just all style and no substance.

So if a lot of celebrities go to the more expensive gyms, it's not necessarily a good sign, because only the equipment and the quality of the equipment matters. You must be able to do all the compound movements without having to wait 20 minutes or more to use the power rack or the bench, because otherwise you can only train after your work day, not before or in the middle of the day.

Because gyms that meet all those requirements are rare, since even the most expensive gyms use cheap barbells that bend easily and have only 1 power rack and too many clients, the best thing you can do is to make a home gym that has all of this in it, I did one myself and it cost me around 5000$ but it's because I live in Canada, if lived in the USA, it would have cost me only around half of that, I had to buy a lot of stuff from Rogue Fitness so I paid a lot in shipping and I paid more because the canadian dollar is worth less than the US dollar. So if you live in the USA, you can make the same gym for only 2500-3000$, and if you live in Europe, it will cost around the same price as me probably.

It's your choice but you'll find that gyms are not a good place to socialize, people just want to get through their workout and not be bothered and you'll find out if you try to talk to them. If you want to socialize, you should do things that are done in groups, that is how you can make friends and even meet women by doing sports, you could join a recreational sports team (non competitive), a hiking group, a running group, or a cyclist group, there are many options and you can find them in your city or online through websites that show local events.

Going to the gym is still very important though but not to meet people, its purpose is to make you get stronger and build muscle. I know that there are a lot of incels who talk against gymmaxxing because they are lazy, what they don't realize is that being muscular does not just make you attractive, it's actually useful because if you're strong then you'll have the strength to carry the girls that you have sex with and you'll be able to do those more complicated positions where you fuck her while carrying her, women love that. They don't just love what the muscles represent (strength and power) but what they are able to do and it turns them on. That's one of the many reasons why gymmaxxing is essential and more important than any other self improvement thing.
