I'm 17 years old, and i've had a herbpst appliance and braces prior to this. I was reccomended to a maxillofacial surgeon by my orthodontist. I'm deciding whether I should conssider BSSO surgery or double jaw surgery. I have a retrusion on my lower mandible, but my maxilla is not retruding. This would mean that BSSO is a good option since my maxilla is not receeded, but DJS's ccw rotation benefits could help. Need advice on which surgery would return greater ROI

it's nearly double the price and the recovery is very brutal, would djs be that much more worth it?

Almost every grey on here would recommend DJS but ask about whether your bite is in the right position to include a lefort aswell. You can try to go for bimax but if it's not necessary most surgeons will turn you down like they did me. BSSO is still a solid option I would go for

Thanks for the input. My teeth align per the x-ray images. It’s just a small recession of the lower mandible. My chin has good projection and it masks the recession I have. My maxilla is not recceessed, but it’s also not very well projected. BSSO + rhino would be what I’m thinking of. I would like to hear y’all’s thoughts on that.

That sounds good to me. If you have pictures of yourself I could see I should be able to confirm

Most recent pic, I’m crazy bloated cause I started testosterone and I’m like 25% BF lmao

All I know is whatever is making u ugly is the same thing making me ugly and I got recommended to undergo jaw surgery by a literal maxoficial surgeon so there’s that

I got reccomended one by my ortho, I believe rhino and BSSO to work best

This is what my side would look like post rhinoplasty and BSSO

Did they say they’ll give you CCW rotation? Your occlusion doesn’t look that steep to me. It’s about the same as mine although I have more mandible and chin than you (I’m class III) and they said no CCW for me.

dont need jaw surgery, not even remotely

Bro look at my lower mandible, the only reason why I don’t look as recessed is cause of my chin bone:
