Ahhhh, I see now. Thanks for explaining. Reason I didn’t watch this video is because these reverts feel so entitled; others praise reverts but I don’t care if someone’s a revert or not. I dislike them equally. In any case, she’s taking it too far at points but the main message is right (that is, not discriminating others). Islam is against sodomy, it is the act that is to be despised. From an Islamic perspective, we would say that someone who’s gay or trans is going through a test. To resist those urges would result in a reward for them, possibly of great proportions. However, to give in would make them degenerates (much like anyone else who engages in premarital sex), but that doesn’t mean they should be discriminated against. Personally, I don’t have anything against gays or trans people. In fact, since last year, I’ve got an openly homosexual acquaintance; and he’s a very nice person, a sweetheart. I already held these views before I knew him, though, so I’m not being biased. I’ve got a salafist-type acquaintance as well, and he’s very “tolerating” of him; he doesn’t hate on him either, and he’s not westernized or liberal whatsoever. Prays his prayers on time every time I’ve seen him, and the other day he tried to lecture me on my lack of praying.
