Not majority but around mid 1700s to late 1800s we were about 30% of the worlds population. Everyone else was split into small slices to fill up the rest of the piechart.

On paper yes but the first and second world war collapsed populations in europe. Theres a theory that there are less white people now than back then due to low birthrate compared to back then. High infant death in the late 1800s - 1910 wasnt all that much in industrial countries as much as they talk about disease etc. Its blown way out of proportion.
