I’m not against parental guidance and disciple. I know far too well that kids can be really cruel and nasty, and I understand that being a parent is stressful

But I have also heard many insane things from ethnics about their parents growing up. My mom used to lock me in a room and leave my crying for hours. I used to think demons would come out and eat me. She would hit me and my siblings with anything she could get her hands on. It was really cruel and humiliating, especially because I wasn’t even a bad kid. She would say some really crazy stuff like wishing death on me

Yh, I’ve learned to live with it and move on now. I still love my parents. But I can’t help but imagine that maybe I wouldn’t have been so mentally ill had I actually gotten the support and love I needed
