Alternatively, you can use table salt in a bucket of ice water so that it'll stay frozen and speed up the process.
-Then in 1758, Ben Franklin performed an experiment by placing some diethyl ether in a mercury thermometer bulb, then evaporated it with the help of a bellows (see below). It went below freezing and ice formed on the outside of the bulb. This was used in ice machines and early refrigerators.
-Invented cars in the 1600s (they were steam-powered).
