sure maybe in the west, but i'd argue that stalin's more widely known to populations in africa and east asia, as communism (and ussr in general, so therefore stalinist ideology) had larger and longer influence to those regions than 6 years of world war caused by hitler. since those regions also have large quantities of populace i think it's safe to assume that this comparison would be very close between the two; but i do see ur point.
