I'm not sure if I actually broke it but my cartilage is definitely damaged and you can see my nasal bone pressing against the skin. So chances are I broke it a few times and I never got it treated. Getting punched in the face a few times didn't help either but that was when I was already fully grown so that didn't impact it, probably just a tiny tiny bit really.
Do you think that a deviated septum can form from a broken nose? I have a deviated septum and I have two suspect incidents that would support the broken nose theory:
You definitely sustained damage to your nose and chances are you broke it without even knowing you broke it. Nasal bones are fragile, it takes one punch and it can be broken. Since you participated in contact sports and also got hit in your nose; I'd say yes, your nose was broken at some point. A deviated septum is a broken nose, technically speaking.
I used to do MMA (taekwondo then BJJ) too which I think gave me a deviated septum (or sleeping on one side all the time). I’m getting septorhino soon. I can’t cope with the fact that environmental factors have me worse features
