Whats the upside to the psl RANKING system?

Its just less specific then a 1-10 rating system tbh.

Why and by whom was this created and why was it decided that 8PSL is the max rating (that doesn't exist though so actually 7PSL is the max I guess)

I read, when the PSL scale originated, the idea is to subtract 2 from the /10 rating to reflect the statistics that women rate most men below average. And to flatten out 1s and 2s to 0 because they have 0 SMV anyway. The middle rating on the PSL scale is supposed to be 3, not 4. The new wave of looksmaxers misuse the PSL scale as if it’s the /10 scale multiplied by 0.8.

yes i think we need to have a community concensus but i dont think there’ll be an organised effort unless mods put some effort to organise it i think the new way its used makes more sense
