The dip goes too far down, upper lip is too big and goes too high up beside the dip, dimples or whatever the line is called extend too far out. On him it looks good though, but alone it looks weird

I think you mean Cupids bow? Its a universally attractive feature. It could be narrower but its better than chico who has none whatsoever. Also both have ideal upper to lower lip ratio

I rub them with rough towel and some vaseline which makes pop more

I think its a small but noticeable improvement especially in dimer lighting wgen they usually dont pop as much
