Get a tight wave perm, you dont want it to be too curly. But you also need to grow hair out a bit longer since curly hair will look shorter but thicker and have more volume

Book a time with a hair stylist and show a pic of how you want it

Get a fairly tight perm, not worth getting that loose. Just put some curlers in your hair if you want it that loose tbh

Curling rods, just use these. Put them on at night

When I got my perm it looked fairly natural on me - cuz of my pheno tbh. But some people mistook me as arab or mixed race jfl

Damn, I thought having a perm is no work at all. You just shower, rub your hair dry and be done with it. If you just do that, and maybe be somewhat careful when drying the hair, how did it look then? I can't imagine you gain so much by doing all this gay shit like using hairspray, wax etc. For straight hair it makes a big difference, but for curly hair? I have straight hair so I wouldnt know

They’ll probably have 4 or 5 rod types (5 the strongest), you would want to do rod 3 or 4, probably 3 to be conservative. Also, do not shampoo the hair for 48 hours after or it will damage the restructuring keratin bonds and therefore damage the perm. If your stylist is experienced they’ll help work with you to make it look decent on the first perm you do, and you’ll be able to perfect what you were seeking after that.

You probably want something in the 3 range. 3b would probably be ok, as usually a perm “relaxes” a day after getting it and shifts down one on the chart (to 3a)

thats true, curly hair mantainment is fucking aids... if you see "the curly method" thing in reddit and all the shit the foids have to do to mantain it is ropefuel... probably not worth it unless it suits your pheno so much that its +1 psl
