When you spend so much time worrying you're ill, or about getting ill, that it starts to take over your life.
  • constantly worry about your health
  • frequently check your body for signs of illness, such as lumps, tingling or pain
  • are always asking people for reassurance that you're not ill
  • worry that a doctor or medical tests may have missed something
  • obsessively look at health information on the internet or in the media
  • avoid anything to do with serious illness, such as medical TV programmes
  • act as if you were ill (for example, avoiding physical activities)

Hmm, good question.

Well, I usually take my good health for granted, but when something does go wrong my cortisol levels spike hard and I start worrying. Then when I google the symptoms and see that I might have cancer or some other bad disease, I just close the tab and hope the symptoms go away.

I totally feel that, I get problems like this often. I thought I was going to pass out with a stroke today at dinner because I had palps. Do you do full body checks in front of a mirror every 2 weeks?

I try to avoid going to the docs out of fear and that it would fester my health anxiety, so I often do full body checks myself.
Not a bad full body check, everything's good. Checked my whole body to see if there's any changes due to cancer or ALS or anything sinister.

I checked for skin cancer, prostate cancer, Hodgkin's lymphoma, Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, testicular cancer. I also checked for ALS by checking out my muscle tone and doing strength tests.

Not too concerned about penile cancer as I was circumcised shortly after birth.
