The guy on the left imo because the right guy's zygos are a bit too much and the eyes look slightly close set. The left guy features just harmonize better. Both are good looking though imo

Eye seperation is brutal, you're just kind of fucked if you don't have it right. You can get eye box osteotomy but that's like splitting your skull in half, it's a major surgery and I'm not sure if it's easy to find surgeons willing to do it for aesthetic reasons.

Shorter vertically or horizontally? My contention is that if you want your eyes to appear less close set you should make them shorter vertically, but longer horizontally. This is how girls with close set eyes do their makeup sometimes, they do that cat eyeliner look on their eyes laterally to give an impression that their eyes are wider apart.
