Who should pay for dates?

In my view, I'd only cover the full cost once she's my girl because then only is it my duty to provide for her. Why would I pay for someone who doesn't even know me or care about me? Also a lot of girls use dates as a free meal so I would be preventing that too. So until she's my girl, we're going 50/50.
