I witnessed yet another confirmation of what the halo effect tells us.
Yesterday in the office, a group of employees said loudly, "Who is the most handsome in the office...? Obviously you, James."
Do you know who James is? An ugly bald guy, but tall—and guess who? The deputy head of the office.
So, the halo effect works.
It could have been you. It could have been me.
The fact is that if you are at the highest level in a certain social group, even if it is the street cleaners in the neighborhood, you are perceived as the best in everything.
