Why 8 billion peole can't/won't do anything.

Division - you may think water but it goes deeper. I'm going to talk about the how this occurs.

Neurochemical-driven cognitive dissonance reduction: Defending a belief not for its truth but rather for the neurological effect it gave you while consuming it.

This mainly occurs through social media. Echo Chambers and such. The algorithm that can basically read your mind gives you the perfect dopamine enriched videos to fuck with you head. This can happen no matter what your beliefs are.

When you attack someone's beliefs, they see it as attacking there happiness, sovereignty, livelihood. Pursuing the truth is seen as harsh attacks on communities.

This explains all the mental gymnastics of all sides, corners and centre of the political sphere.

Implications
Nothing except walking mindlessly to project 2030 heaven will ever happen. You often hear people say "8 billion people vs 3,000" reffing to g-pop vs uber rich. Not realising the 3k have resources and are completely united, the 8bil aren't. Constant infighting means forever no progress.

Its obviously om purposes, but it worked a d there's nothing we can do.

This also explains the "soy-ness" of many. Not wanting to offend anyone because deep down they understand this.

Obviously this may struggle with however you define truth, but you still likely understand the message.

In their recent post they pretended to mock immigrants by labelling them as "Aliens" when really they mean it literally, when they said that they have Aliens living amongst them. i'd say 1 billion was the ideal population (maybe even this is too large)

once you go past that, you have too many people in too small a space

some will waste resources

no matter how big the population, the high achievers will scale limited (for example on this forum back in 2022, there were about 25 big important users at a population of ~12000 users, now with ~160000 users, there are 30 important users, very small difference, same idea in real life, but instead of engagement it's accomplishment, scientific, economic and political achievements (theres also celebrities who achieve socially, but they are less important))

so more resources are taken up, the same achievements are reached, people become more divided

(I think AI vs Space Travel are the two largest differences in "resources", AI independence and people getting to generate their own things doesn't help them physically or technologically to surpass, they have no new resources, while if space travel and mining are easily created, people could probably create (rough) space colonies and temporarily escape the reach of their hand, because of this, the chance we get independent space travel/colonies is very low, and if we do it will be very controlled and selective to who goes)
