Because it dries up the skin and causes skin damage. So, you're going to look terrible for a long time until the treatment is over, then, usually, there are no scars. It is helpful for people who have extremely large amounts of acne though.

DONT GO IN THE sUN. I still have residual skin damage from sunburns that I got on accutane 8 months after my treatment was finished.
