I started diffuse thinning badly at 13 brutal I know

but I didn't realize until I was around 14-15 at which point I started using topical minoxidil. I used it for like four months then stopped and then went on and off inconsistently up until I was around 17.

A couple months after my 17th birthday, I hopped on 2.5mg oral minox (my derm wouldn't prescribe 5mg ) and took it daily for 6 months, after which I was prescribed 5mg finasteride and minoxidil.

been taking both of those for 3.5 months now but have not noticed much if any improvement to my density.

Is it too early, or are my follicles irreparable at this point?
When I look in the mirror, I see a lot of baby hairs but I might just be schizo since you can't see them even in direct pics of my scalp
I have NOT shed any hair since 15 however (I am 18 now)

a decade or two is PLENTY of time, age is always gonna have the last laugh but i dont want to be bald for the rest of my life by the time im in my mid 20s.

Tried fin at 17, quit after a couple months cuz of sexual sides. Hopped on topical min a couple months ago but I can only do it every other day or I get weird feelings in my chest, so basically useless. I just restarted fin a couple weeks ago and this shit is really giving me brain fog and crazy mood swings ngl. But what’s the alternative? Go bald at 18? Fuck man

Also you can try natural alternatives to minoxidil and finasteride. It won't be as good as the real thing obviously, but it's still certainly better than nothing.

Is it possible that it's the placebo effect? Like you think that finasteride makes you groggy and weird, which makes you actually end up feeling that way?

Instead of minoxidil, you could maybe try rosemary oil (make a compound by mixing it with jojoba, castor, and peppermint) I heard that rosemary oil on its own is around as effective as 2% minoxidil allegedly, so with the compound, it's probably somewhere in between 2% and 5% minoxidil in terms of effectiveness

Nah I dont think it's cope. Well for most people kind of, since it's just an inferior version of minoxidil. But since you can't use minox, then rosemary is the next best thing

same i started at 15 i remember a friend of mine told me i was balding and i brushed it off (wish i listened) now im 17 4 months away from 18 and it looks bad uptop not as bad as you but not much better my derma told me use nizoral and i skipped what he said i got 2.5mg of minoxidil and started using topical finastride until i got my hands on 0.5 dut ive been on dut for a few days time will tell cause i dont want to bald early 20s
