Why am I always the one that has to do the first move/initiate conversation?

Nobory wants to talk to me first its always that i have to begin with a conversation. How can i show people that i am open. Its not that i want to be accosted every time but just a bit more cuz i feel like I have no one to talk with IF i do not start first. And even if i do the conversations are usually quite hollow and non amusing
