Why am i this short

I turned 17 a month ago exactly and i am BARELY 5'9 like BARELY my mom is also 5'9 and my dad is 5'11 all my family on my moms side is tall all my uncles above 6'1 my grandpa 6'3 but my dads side of the family im basically taller then everyone but it still doesnt make sense how my parents are arguably a tall couple i guess and i am freaking barely 5'9 off basically a hair i am soon getting my growth plates checked out if my growth plates are closed thats going to be considered the worst luck ever for me to have if my growth plates are still open and considering the fact i just turned 17 how tall should i be? and also idk if this helps the fact but i barely have facial hair since ik thats a sign of puberty ending i just have a mustache but grows very slowly

well using the mid parental height you should be around 6‘0.5 but that always isn’t guaranteed, 5‘9 is average height for americans (if you’re one) and honestly your dads side kind of weighs your height down because they’re shorter, your parents height aren’t the only factor as well it’s 80/20 with genetics and your life style

If ur a late bloomer u got a very low chance to get to ur dad height so basically 5‘11 what would be perfectly fine u js gotta have a better facecard then the 6 2 guy

Nga how is this even possible were u starving ur self ur whole life?? This is so damn unlucky I hope the best for u and u turn to be a late bloomer, 5’9 isn’t bad but in ur situation 1000% is, with such parents and relatives , should be taller
