when 00´ dance music and its combination with pop came on and obviously adopting hip pop into the mainstream, which was in the 90's an alternative thing.. In addition, rock has not evolved much, except for alternative or indie rock which is overflow to other music genres and its not mainstream.

Maybe this is because rock is part of the culture of my city since its roots

It died with Nu-Metal, Pop punk and Emo shit around the 2000s, those were the last mainstream rock genres there were plenty of Emos around when I was a kid... I think it died because it became too corporatised, clean, polished and over done, the same shit will happen to rap in 40-60 years then people will move onto something else

I went to a live show of a band that made one of the most critically acclaimed album this year and there were maybe 1000 people there, we even hanged out after the show in a pub close to the venue

Lol so why was it the most popular music genre between 1960-2010? Thats like 50 years, rap came from the underground by 1990 but it took like 20 years at least for it to surpass rock in popularity among young people in the 2010's. (Even then EDM genres like techno, dubstep and house were more popular then rap between 2009-2013, so really rap has only be mainstream for the last 10 years)

They are usually long. That could be one of the reasons but it died with nu-metal because the top band members became oldcels and hence most of them are retired.

The crowds at the concerts were crazy, i mean really wild. The whole fucking place would be jumping and phermones would be spraying everywhere, releasing the primal human.

Bring back the rock gen, ive been to a few concerts. You feel a different kind of high after, horny as fuck, and if you are with a girl you will fuck like animals after a good wild concert.

Go to rock concerts, support up and coming rock bands.
