They are portrayed as the most capable people. While you are running around 11pm at night looking for a party they are sleeping in the desert. You legit just take a practice test, do a shit ton of paperwork with recruiter, go to medical place to get shit ton of physicals, do even more paperwork, go to basic training boot camp, suffer for 2 months of straight ass, go to tech school, then go to your first military base and do the job.

I'm in the tech school part right now, not that far in. I waited like a fucking year to get in though. Covid slowed shit down but also made it easier for me to get in since they needed people ASAP they were more willing to look over medical issues. The physical place is literally just looking for the genetic elite btw. Even if you are Chad if you have a shellfish allergy they kick you tf out.

I just got in bro and I'm still in school so I haven't really experienced shit. I'm really happy to be here, really happy I got this job. Also being here has really changed my mentality tbh. I actually believe in doing the right thing now. Before I would easily justify hurting other people, doing something selfish, but now I have seen that doing the right thing really does make you feel better mentally. I saw some really inspirational guys make that shit happen and honestly, I've been inspired.

I like wearing the uniform too and my dad (even though he hurt and abused me) also did 20 years in the air force so it's sort of historical for me.

I legit have not seen civilians in fucking like 3 months so I've kind of forgot what outside civilization is like. I'm not allowed to leave the military base btw because of covid JFL

My dad has some airforce clients who had the job you described, and apparently alot of them get serious PTSD from that. Imagining waking up in your middle class home,going to a small cubicle at work, and just blowing people up on the other side of the planet. Must take a serious mental toll on you
