Why are Alternative Scenes Left-Wing?

Especially with music, almost all fanbases of indie/alternative media are liberal. I myself am very interested in underground music, but I'd never vote blue because of my worldview. Is this association due to higher rates of depression in libtards or is there some cultural bias I'm missing here?
