Why are asians so unique in the way they behave?

I've always wondered this tbh

Asians (specifically east asians) are pretty intelligent, yet they operate on a shame based morality system that we would associate with other less advanced cultures.

Although I do believe all morality ultimately is fear based, it is weird how despite being on par with Europeans in terms of intelligence, a lot of their morality is based off of group thinking and shame rather than individualistic guilt
