Why are cities more secular and rural areas more religious?

Cities are also
-more left winged
-bureaucratic
-have welfare
-have science and technology

While rural areas are
-More right winged
-charitable
-provident
-self reliant

etc? Just some I've always thought about. What do you think?

as a mf who lives in the middle of fucking nowhere:
- older average age in rural areas, so more traditional values are held here.
- theres less services here and theres going to be less corporations- so theres more reliance on yourself, your neighbours, and people of the area, rather than institutions. ties into self reliance providence and charity
- negative attitudes towards urban-centric governments, whom by rural people feel somewhat neglected, by those people who dont understand rural life.
- theyre tight knit, change is not welcomed like it is in urban areas. family and Christian values are still held.
- less diverse, mostly white. no immigrants in the countryside.
- traditions and values are passed down through generations in rural places, and theres not much exposure to diversity which can change the mind of someone that comes from their upbringing.

What's going on there, I just heard something last year about how there was a Mosque to be built there which caused uproar?

Yeah they built a “super mosque” which is near the lake district, but not actually in the national park

Also ive been going to the Lake District with my family consistently since i was born to go climbing in the mountains, and I’ve noticed more immigrants as time goes on

damn bro, that's sad tbf

I live in the middle of nowhere in the south of Ireland, most people in my area are white Irish, however I actually think one of my neighbours is another European immigrant lol, Polish or something, it's not that bad but still.

and dont let my countryside fool you, the second you go into the nearby town only a few minutes away where I attend school, it looks like fucking Africa, India, Romania and Ukraine. the place is infested. filled up the old Convent Nunnery with Ukrainians, there's a weird ass fucking Muslim Saudi-Ukrainian in my school who got exposed for being an absoloute creep. :feelscry:

eh my school is still in a town, the countryside is more and more sparsely populated, so tbf the school probably doesnt even differ a whole lot from the city (just a lot of kids are from more rural places/smaller towns)

but still I'm an ND introvert so it was never gonna be easy in the first place. :feelsrope:
