Why are deepset hooded eyes genetically superior to bug eyes?

Theoretically bug eyes should have higher value genetically since they offer a 180 degree view, while deepset eyes offer a 90 degree frontal view only

deep set/hooded eyes provide more protection from the sun and during fighting with other men/animals
or when running through a forest , so a random ass twig doesn't end up poking and blinding you
