Why are fedoras and brimmed hat considered to be autistic?

We have all seen the fedora hat meme but I don't understand the hate brimmed classical hats get tbh. I personally think they look quite dapper and are very stylish

Its not basement dwellers thing either. Depp, Somerhalder, Cavill, Pitt and many celebrities love wearing hats and can often been seen wearing one

Yea those hats are considered very formal. You need to pair them a suit or at least something that is a bit together otherwise it looks off

No one thought about fedoras very much until autists started going viral wearing them so that's the association that was created in popular consciousness and contrary to other more popular styles of hats (baseball cap, fitted, etc.) not enough people wear fedoras to counteract the association with the viral autists who wore them, so the connection was solidified.
