A long time ago, when humans were still at the stage one of evolution ( no one know more than what can be learn in one lifespan / prehistoric age ) rape was common ( even thought it did changed in fonction of the individual and groups they were in ).
Weak women got raped more often than others make child(s) if womenweaker...

I think this may be one reason.
