Why are generally unattractive people gravitated towards being politically active at my school?

Is it because when you are unattractive, you are forced to care about politics and dethrone the status quo? Is it a way to find meaning and cope for some people? I never see the Chads, Chadreets, or Changs at my school care much about politics. Most of them are Democrats to virtue signal to JBs at the most but are more focused on sports or athletics.
