it's not little girls being valued NOW it's what will become later on. a six 6 year old boy might become a great mathematician if his skills are detected early, that doesn't mean society throws him as a university professor now or he's high value now. it's a long term pay off. now to the original point... women are valued by society because that's what reflect societal values now. 300 years ago they were burned for being witches and were the husband's property.
